Video games villains are generally more brutal and more ingenious than movie villains. When they finally meet justice, there’s a special satisfaction. Here are the top villain deaths in gaming.
‘God Of War III’. Kratos shows Zeus that even a God can bleed – at least in ‘Game of War’! And when they do it’s a whole bucket brigade’s worth.
‘Red Dead Redemption’. Ross is retired but not forgotten, and the son of a man he murdered finally ends it in a gun battle in old New Mexico.
‘Heavy Rain’. Some guys deserve to fall into a meat grinder. A fitting end for the Origami Killer.
‘Resident Evil 5’. Albert was a real problem, what with all the tentacles. It turns out that you just have to blow up his head with a few RPG shells.
Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2: Finally, Soap puts a knife in the General’s eye to save Price. Hello, bloodspray!
The Lich King
‘World Of Warcraft: Wrath Of The Lich King’. It takes every player unloading everything they’ve got to take down the King.
‘Shadow Of The Colossus’. Dormin and Wander are separated by Lord Emon using the Ancient Sword, but then both get sucked into a whirlpool. What’s left behind is a mysterious horned baby.
‘Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater’. We assume you’re not going to just cheat and change the PS2 clock so he dies of old age, right? Right?
‘Final Fantasy VII’. Ruby Weapon is so strong defensively that it takes incredible stubbornness to finally prevail.
‘Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots’. Old Snake wants to make peace with Old Boss. In his heart, he was sincere. Too bad he was injected with a virus tasked to take Big Boss out.
Big Smile Lee
‘Sleeping Dogs’. Nothing says ‘bloodsplash’ like a half-clogged wood-chipper.
‘BioShock’. Ryan uses the phrase ‘A man chooses, a slave obeys’ to set off a hypnotic trigger that makes Jack beat and then stab him to death with a golf club.
